Oak Grove had already won seven in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past the Lafayette Fighting Irish 11-4.

Oak Grove's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Oak Grove didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Centralia on the 30th. As for Lafayette, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mid-Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on September 15.
