Football Recap: Montevideo Comes Up Short

Montevideo lost against Minnewaska Area back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thunderhawks were outmatched by the Lakers and fell 34-6. While losing is never fun, the Thunderhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Lakers are ranked 55th).

Montevideo's record is now 0-7. As for Minnewaska Area, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montevideo will host Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Minnewaska Area, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Royalton at 7:00 p.m. The Lakers will be up against the Royals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
