Softball Recap: Bennington Wins Going Away Against South Sioux City

Bennington was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Sioux City on Saturday. The Badgers blew past the Cardinals 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Badgers, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Allie Boever made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bennington got a massive performance out of Brooklynn Fitch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Fitch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Muller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

Bennington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .529. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Bennington back to even at 10-10. As for South Sioux City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bennington and South Sioux City will both be playing Burke the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will head out to face the Bulldogs at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Badgers will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
