Soccer Recap: Sheldon Takes a Loss

Sheldon was the 2-0 winner over Franklin when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sheldon Huskies lost 5-0 to the Franklin Wildcats on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 782nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 143rd).

Sheldon dropped their record down to 3-9-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Franklin, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheldon will venture away from home to challenge Monterey Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to take on Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.
