Basketball Recap: Torrey Pines Triumphs

Torrey Pines's tournament run continued when they took on Corona del Mar on Monday. The Falcons escaped with a win against the Sea Kings by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

Torrey Pines was led to victory by Charley Pegg and Lavi Parraway. Pegg posted 15 points and six rebounds, while Parraway shot 41% from the field en route to 14 points along with six boards and four steals. Parraway has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzie Dieter, who earned six points and five rebounds.

Torrey Pines is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Corona del Mar, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Torrey Pines has already played their next game, a 54-40 defeat against Lincoln on the 30th. As for Corona del Mar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-39 loss against Polytechnic on the 30th.
