Soccer Recap: Sylmar Comes Up Short

Sylmar's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Canoga Park Hunters by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 4-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Sylmar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-2. As for Canoga Park, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylmar will challenge Reseda at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sylmar's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Canoga Park has already played their next match (against Van Nuys), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
