Baseball Recap: Aquinas Gets the Win

While Aquinas's win against Black River Falls wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blugolds narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 7-5. The Blugolds haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Landon Teachout made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Teachout was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Waylon Hargrove was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aedan David, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Black River Falls, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on Tomah at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Black River Falls, they will face off against Viroqua at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blackhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
