Football Recap: Pittsburg Falls Despite Big Games from Cole Hayden and Malcolm Riley

Pittsburg was the 42-14 winner over Paola when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell 33-21 to the Panthers on Friday.

Pittsburg's loss came despite strong showings from Malcolm Riley and Cole Hayden. Riley gained 112 total yards and a touchdown, while Hayden picked up 17 receiving yards and one score.

Pittsburg now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Paola, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Pittsburg will head out to take on Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paola, they will welcome Spring Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos' defense has only allowed 11.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
