Baseball Recap: Laguna Beach Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Laguna Beach walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Moorpark Musketeers on Friday, sneaking past 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Breakers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Dylan Yencho was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jacob Wicker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bear Ward, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Laguna Beach's record now sits at 19-11. As for Moorpark, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-10.

Coming up, Laguna Beach will take on Grand Terrace at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Breakers 3.4, the Titans 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Moorpark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
