Football Recap: Omaha Nation Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crow Creek last Friday, Omaha Nation came back down to earth. The Chiefs took a 6-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the White River Tigers on Friday. The Chiefs lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 36-0 score last time.

Dason Romo threw for 90 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Mitch Grant was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards.

Omaha Nation's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for White River, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Nation will head out to challenge Winnebago at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for White River, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pine Ridge on Thursday. The Tigers will be up against the Thorpes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.71 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
