Football Recap: Thomas Sumter Academy Has No Trouble Against American Leadership Academy

After only 12 points in their last game, Thomas Sumter Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against American Leadership Academy on Friday. The Generals took down the Patriots 35-17. That 18 point margin sets a new team best for the Generals this season.

Thomas Sumter Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Petrauschke, who picked up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Williams, who rushed for 106 yards and one TD.

The victory (which was Thomas Sumter Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. As for American Leadership Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Thomas Sumter Academy will head out to challenge Clarendon Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Generals will be up against the Saints' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.83 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for American Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Saluda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season.
