Wyoming Area extends road losing streak to 11

Recap: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans

The Wyoming Area Warriors suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Greater Nanticoke Area, falling 70-39. While losing is never fun, Wyoming Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 538th, while Greater Nanticoke Area is ranked 189th).

Wyoming Area's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Gaylord, who scored 14 points along with three blocks. That's the first time this season that Gaylord posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Slusser, who scored seven points.

Wyoming Area bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.2 points per game. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Wyoming Area will be playing in front of their home fans against Hanover Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hanover Area is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Greater Nanticoke Area, they will head out on the road to challenge Holy Redeemer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Redeemer is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
