Softball Recap: Lincoln High Takes a Loss

Lincoln High extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-6. They came up short against the Kearney Bearcats, falling 16-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Links of the 11-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Lincoln High saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nora Davy, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Kearney, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Considering they have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Kearney's side, Kinleigh Coffman was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Coffman a new career-high. Siena Bonk was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles.

Looking ahead, Lincoln High will be taking part in a tournament against Ponca at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Kearney, they will welcome Lincoln East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
