Baseball Recap: Vinal RVT Takes a Loss

Vinal RVT had lost five straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 5-10 to make it six. They fell just short of the Norwich RVT Warriors by a score of 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hawks have suffered since April 17th.

As for Norwich RVT, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Norwich RVT's part, the result came thanks to Kyle Stringer's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Stringer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Norwich RVT's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Arnio, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Coming up, Vinal RVT will head out on the road to challenge O'Brien RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norwich RVT, they will be playing at home against Bacon Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
