Basketball Game Preview: West Allegheny Indians vs. Chartiers Valley Colts

West Allegheny hasn't had much luck against Chartiers Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The West Allegheny Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Chartiers Valley Colts at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Monday, everything went West Allegheny's way against New Castle as West Allegheny made off with a 67-42 victory. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chartiers Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They strolled past Mars with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 57-41.

Chartiers Valley's win came from a few key players West Allegheny will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Reynolds, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Davis, who posted nine points.

Chartiers Valley pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for West Allegheny, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

West Allegheny might still be hurting after the 57-33 defeat they got from Chartiers Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can West Allegheny avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
