Basketball Game Preview: Weston Ranch Cougars vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves

The Weston Ranch Cougars will challenge the San Ramon Valley Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Weston Ranch has given up an average of 74.8 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Weston Ranch is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They were beaten by Legacy Christian Academy 86-53.

Despite the defeat, Weston Ranch saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lemar Finney shot 40% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Jerimyah Owens, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask San Ramon Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 victory over Marin Catholic on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the season.

Weston Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for San Ramon Valley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
