Softball Recap: Riverdale Ridge Beats Grandview for Their 21st Straight Victory

Riverdale Ridge had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Grandview Wolves 10-8. The Ravens are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 21 straight dating back to last season.

Riverdale Ridge let Peyton Saenz and Brynn Garduno run wild. Saenz went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Garduno went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jerzi McArthur, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Riverdale Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grandview struck out nine times.

Grandview now has a losing record of 1-2.

Riverdale Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-4 win against Fort Collins on the 23rd. As for Grandview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Grand Junction Central on the 23rd.
