Basketball Recap: Sanai Hill Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

After losing to State College the last time they met, Cumberland Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cumberland Valley Eagles secured a 53-49 W over the State College Little Lions on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Little Lions are ranked 27th).

Cumberland Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sanai Hill led the charge by as she made all 6 shots she took to post 13 points and six boards. Those 13 points gave Hill a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Sines, who posted 12 points.

Cumberland Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for State College, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2.

Cumberland Valley will head out to take on Central York at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for State College, they will welcome Central Dauphin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Dauphin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
