Recap: Eastside Lions vs. Highland Bulldogs
After a string of three wins, the Eastside Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 54-41 to Highland. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eastside has scored all season.
Eastside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aprill Medrano, who scored 12 points. The contest was Medrano's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Niela Niela, who scored nine points.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside will square off against Knight at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Knight will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to face off against Palmdale at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palmdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1025th, while Highland is ranked 149th).
