Despite the loss, Brentwood School got top-tier performance from Lev Feiman, who shot 63% from the field en route to 22 points along with seven boards and three steals. Feiman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Logan Scott was another key player, putting up four points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, La Jolla Country Day suffered their biggest defeat since December 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 63-42 to Mission Hills. The loss continues a trend for the Torreys in their meetings with the Grizzlies: they've now lost three in a row.
Brentwood School will need to focus on slowing down Safiyah Sugapong, one of several La Jolla Country Day players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Atlanta Bass-Sulpizio, who earned six points and 11 boards.
Even though they lost, La Jolla Country Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. This was only their second loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Brentwood School's defeat dropped their record down to 25-8. As for La Jolla Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Brentwood School has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like La Jolla Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Brentwood School didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against La Jolla Country Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 67-62 win.
