Softball Recap: Douglas County West Comes Up Short

Douglas County West lost against Elkhorn back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcon fell just short of the Antlers by a score of 11-10. The Falcon have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bella Zach was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off three home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ericka Murphy, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Douglas County West's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Elkhorn, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3.

Douglas County West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against St. Cecilia on the 30th. As for Elkhorn, they have also already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Fremont on the 30th.
