Preview: Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers vs. Shalom Christian Academy Flames
Cumberland Valley Christian is 2-8 against Shalom Christian Academy since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cumberland Valley Christian Blazers will head out on the road to take on the Shalom Christian Academy Flames at 6:45 p.m.
Back in December of 2023, Cumberland Valley Christian was the victim of a rough 64-43 defeat at the hands of Carroll Christian.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Makenna Morris, who scored nine points. Addison Teal was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Even though Shalom Christian Academy has not done well against Fannett Metal recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Shalom Christian Academy strolled past Fannett Metal with points to spare, taking the game 62-44. Given Shalom Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Fannett Metal is ranked 642nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shalom Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Adams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maya Lehman, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Cumberland Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Shalom Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.
Cumberland Valley Christian took a serious blow against Shalom Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 42-11. Can Cumberland Valley Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
