Soccer Recap: Memphis East Triumphs

Memphis East proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Millington Central Trojans 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Memphis East were the better team in the second half.

Mae Jones and Chaniya Caples scored both of Memphis East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Memphis East's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Millington Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis East will face off against Cordova at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Memphis East's defense better be ready for this one: Cordova have averaged an impressive 6.5 goals per game this season. As for Millington Central, they will challenge White Station at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
