Softball Recap: Dougherty Comes Up Short

Dougherty fell victim to Atkinson County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Rebels, falling 12-0. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost seven in a row.

Dougherty saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Deriyah Gibbs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Dougherty's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Atkinson County, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Looking ahead, Dougherty will face off against Mitchell County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Atkinson County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Lanier County at 6:00 p.m.
