Softball Recap: New Manchester Has No Trouble Against Sandy Creek

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Paulding, New Manchester was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Sandy Creek Patriots 19-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguar considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Tahya Wilson and Lenia Rouse did most of the damage at the plate: Wilson went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Rouse got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four RBI gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brianna Battle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

New Manchester's win bumped their record up to 7-12-1. As for Sandy Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. New Manchester will face off against Douglas County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sandy Creek, they will take on Troup County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
