Softball Recap: Sapulpa Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Sapulpa came into Monday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Ponca City Wildcats by a score of 4-1 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Chieftains: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in August, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Brylee Hutson (2029) tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

At the plate, Sapulpa's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Briley McClellan (2029), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Abigail Rainey (2028) was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double.

Sapulpa's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Ponca City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Sapulpa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ponca City, they will face off against Muskogee at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
