Basketball Recap: St. Bonaventure Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Foothill Tech wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Bonaventure, they should've done a better job of containing Sarah Cosio. The St. Bonaventure Seraphs blew past the Foothill Tech Dragons 62-42 on Thursday thanks in part to Cosio, who went 8 of 20 on her way to 21 points along with seven steals and six assists. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Rico, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

The victory was the fourth in a row for St. Bonaventure, bringing their record for this year to 14-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Foothill Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

St. Bonaventure will challenge Fillmore at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fillmore will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something St. Bonaventure surely won't give up without a fight. As for Foothill Tech, they will head out to take on Simi Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Foothill Tech is facing Simi Valley at the right time seeing as Simi Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
