Soccer Game Preview: Eisenhower vs. Notre Dame

The Eisenhower Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Notre Dame Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Eisenhower faced off against Arroyo Valley on Tuesday. The Eagles and the Hawks finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw.

Eisenhower's goal came courtesy of Itzel Reynoso, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Jurupa Hills. While losing is never fun, Notre Dame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1139th, while Jurupa Hills are ranked 477th).

With that draw, Eisenhower's record moves to 4-9-4. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.

Everything went Eisenhower's way against Notre Dame in their previous matchup last Tuesday, as Eisenhower made off with an 8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
