Softball Recap: North Callaway Comes Up Short

North Callaway fell victim to Montgomery County and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in September.

Megan Schmidt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances.

North Callaway moved to 21-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Montgomery County, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

As of now, neither North Callaway nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
