Garlan Godfrey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Faulk, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Georgia Christian won against Hamilton County last Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Georgia Christian beat Hamilton County by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jett Guilliams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Mac Bowling was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Carson Hanks was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Georgia Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .525 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Georgia Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Fullington Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fullington Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Georgia Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
