Blair faced Gretna East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bears came up short against the Griffins, falling 9-0. The Bears' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Blair's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 18-6. As for Gretna East, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.

Blair wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-5 victory against Hastings on the 25th. As for Gretna East, they will be playing at home against Mercy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
