This is not your traditional hit-by-pitch. Georgia sophomore hates to walk so he takes matters into his own hand.
When it comes to intimidation battles between the pitcher on the mound and the batter at the plate,
Jojo Odachowski played the ultimate trump card.
The sophomore shortstop from
Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, Ga.) dealt with an incoming wild pitch not by ducking out of the way, but by reaching out with his left hand.
What Odachowski did next was even more impressive as he casually tossed the ball to the catcher and squared up to get set to face another pitch.
The umpire had a different idea, sending Odachowski to first base for being hit by a pitch, to Odachowski's dismay.
"I was going to continue to hit [before the ump ruled a hit by pitch]," Odachowski told MaxPreps. "I absolutely hate getting walked."
Odachowski attributed his ability to catch the pitch to practice: he uses his bare hand often while practicing fielding and throwing in warmups.
No word on whether it was a fastball or off-speed pitch.

Matt Davis chimed in on Twitter to say that he was the one on the mound during the exchange. The pitch in question? A curveball.
