Basketball Game Preview: Wyomissing Spartans vs. Nazareth Academy

Wyomissing is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Lancaster Catholic 26-24. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Wyomissing's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaya Stewart, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Stewart has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 11 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Marshall, who had four points and three steals.

West Philadelphia typically has all the answers at home, but last Tuesday Nazareth Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They really took it to the Speedboys for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-27 win. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for Nazareth Academy this season.

Wyomissing's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Nazareth Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
