Basketball Recap: McLane Highlanders vs. Sanger West Hornets
The McLane Highlanders lost against the Sanger West Hornets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. McLane was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 41-40 to the Hornets.
McLane lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Annalynne Sengnalyvong, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Barber, who scored eight points.
McLane has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Sanger West, their win bumped their record up to 8-17.
McLane will head out on the road to take on the Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Roosevelt presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Highlanders in California (the Rough Riders are ranked 289th, while the Highlanders are ranked 925th). As for Sanger West, they will be playing at home against the Toros at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
