Football Recap: Darius Rogers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heights over Garden City

The matchup between Heights and Garden City on Friday hardly resembled the 14-13 effort from their previous meeting. The Falcons fell 39-28 to the Buffaloes. The Falcons were up 21-3 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Heights lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Darius Rogers, who rushed for 89 yards and two scores.

Heights is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Garden City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heights will venture away from home to challenge Southeast on Friday. As for Garden City, they will head out to face off against Hays on Friday. This will be the Buffaloes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
