Basketball Game Preview: Martin County Tigers vs. Grandview Prep Pride

The Martin County Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Grandview Prep Pride at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Grandview Prep will be up against a hot Martin County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Martin County took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 78-32 victory over Palm Beach Central. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Broncos are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Martin County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karolina Ramirez, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Becca Witt, who scored 17 points.

Meanwhile, Grandview Prep entered their tilt with Saint Andrew's on Saturday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They breezed by the Scots to the tune of 73-28.

Martin County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points per game. As for Grandview Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
