Football Game Preview: Remington Broncos vs. Smith Center Redmen

The Remington Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Smith Center Redmen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Remington turned things around against Sedgwick on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 40-0 shutout. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Broncos considering their 12-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smith Center). They breezed past Syracuse to the tune of 70-0 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Remington picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Smith Center, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.

Remington was taken down by Smith Center 64-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Thankfully for the Broncos, Jake Sasse (who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
