Softball Recap: Wagoner Bulldogs vs. Fort Gibson Tigers

Wagoner extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Fort Gibson Tigers, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in August.

As for Fort Gibson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Fort Gibson's part, Skyla Oden made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Oden has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven matches.

In other batting news, Bristol Green and Jayda Wood did most of the damage at the plate: Green went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Wood went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Green a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Miley Wafford, who went 1-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base.
