Softball Recap: Hawkinsville Takes a Loss

Wilcox County hit Hawkinsville with a four-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Patriots, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost eight in a row.

Hawkinsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wilcox County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawkinsville will head out to face off against Marion County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for Wilcox County, they will take on Centennial at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
