Softball Recap: Okmulgee Bulldogs vs. Kiefer Trojans

Okmulgee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 18-1 to the Kiefer Trojans. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 11-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in August of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Kiefer, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.1 runs this season.

For Kiefer's part, Caley Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Smith was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kiefer got a massive performance out of Khloe Vinson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that Vinson has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Rhyan Counts, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Coming up, Okmulgee will face off against Sperry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kiefer, they will be taking part in a tournament against Porter at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
