Permian found a leader in Cameron Mattingly as the team took down Frenship on Friday. Mattingly did his part (and then some), making seven total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned for a touchdown for the 'W'. He is on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Looking ahead, Mattingly and Permian will be playing at home against Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers had to take a loss when they last met the Bulldogs, but Mattingly had little to do with the loss: he made 15 total tackles. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
