Basketball Recap: Wonderful College Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Wonderful College Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 17-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Laton Mustangs. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Laton can attribute much of their success to Gabriella Alvarado, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Alvarado has scored at least a third of Laton's points.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Laton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-12.

Wonderful College Prep Academy has already played their next match (against Corcoran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Laton has already played their next contest, a 20-18 defeat against Kings Christian on the 28th.
