Basketball Game Preview: Poly Parrots vs. Monroe Vikings

Poly is 10-0 against Monroe since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Poly Parrots will be playing at home against the Monroe Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Monroe took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Poly, who comes in off a win.

Poly is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since November 30, 2023 on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Hollywood, sneaking past 54-51.

It was another big night for Jhada Cordon, who went 10 of 19 en route to 23 points along with six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game.

Meanwhile, Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Arleta, falling 73-5.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Poly, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Poly against Monroe when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 106-2 win. In that game, Poly amassed a halftime lead of 72-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
