East Jackson posted their closest victory since September 19, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Lanier Longhorns. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Longhorns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.

Victoria Zeliski paced East Jackson's offense, picking up nine kills. Zeliski got some help from Julia Zeliski and her 15 assists. Sydney Ware controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

East Jackson moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lanier, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

East Jackson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy on the 19th. As for Lanier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against White County on the 14th.
