Basketball Recap: Sierra Vista Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Sierra Vista waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Nogales Nobles as they made off with a 54-34 victory. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sierra Vista was led to victory by Cailei Buna and Zaira Eulloque. Buna dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists, while Eulloque went 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The matchup was Eulloque's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Haro, who posted four points in addition to 13 rebounds and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Sierra Vista was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Sierra Vista's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Nogales, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will welcome Baldwin Park at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Vista is facing Baldwin Park at the right time seeing as Baldwin Park is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Nogales, they will take on Azusa at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
