Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

If Washington was riding high fresh off their 20-3 takedown of Arabia Mountain last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 18-3 to the Therrell Panthers on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Washington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DaeJa Hines, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Hines has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Therrell, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will welcome South Cobb at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
