Softball Recap: Lakeview Comes Up Short

Lakeview couldn't beat Twin River on Saturday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. The Vikings lost 13-6 to the Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 10-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Presley Epperson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Sydney Spohn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Twin River, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Lakeview will be taking part in a tournament against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Twin River, they will face off against York at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans' pitcher better be ready for this one: the Dukes have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
