Basketball Recap: Burney's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Burney was the 50-30 winner over Etna when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Raiders and the Lions didn't end well, with the Raiders falling 42-24.

Burney's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Maldonado, who posted five points in addition to six boards and six steals. Maldonado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Perez, who put up nine points and five steals.

Burney's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3. As for Etna, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Burney will take on Big Valley in a tournament on Thursday. As for Etna, they will take on St. Bernard's at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
