Ridgefield and St. Joseph are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Tigers will take on the Cadets at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgefield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Ridgefield came up short against Danbury and fell 8-5.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph faced Ludlowe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cadets fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4. The Cadets have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

HT Jones spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Jake Rios was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Failla, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Ridgefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Ridgefield couldn't quite get it done against St. Joseph when the teams last played back in April as they fell 6-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
