Basketball Recap: Eshrajjit Rai's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Modesto over Enochs

Modesto lost against Enochs two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Modesto Panthers received a blow as they fell 50-33 to the Enochs Eagles.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eshrajjit Rai, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Rai continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Zoe Pando also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Dannielle Warburton was the offensive standout of the match as she went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points and eight rebounds. Maya Ramsay was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Modesto has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Enochs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-12.

Modesto will venture away from home to face off against Pitman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Modesto is facing Pitman at the right time seeing as Pitman is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Enochs, they will be playing at home against Turlock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enochs will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Turlock will have lost 16 straight heading into Tuesday's match.
